PBC FACILITIES RENTAL POLICY

WHAT IS PBC & WHO ARE WE?

PBC is primarily a Christian Charitable Organization. The facilities provided under this Rental Agreement are managed in accordance with the Christian principles and values upheld by PBC. These principles include Christian theological beliefs, and moral values as found in the Bible.  The following link to our website: pleasantbaycamp.org/who-we-are-1 describes PBC’s Biblical values in more detail.

The Mission and Vision of PBC is to maintain, and conduct a Bible conference grounds, a Christian retreat, and a centre for Christian summer activities.

WHAT IS OUR PRIORITY?

The primary purpose of PBC is to carry out our ministry’s purposes and objects as stated above.  While PBC does rent its facilities to the public, priority for use of all PBC property and facilities will be given to PBC’s own purposes in support of its mission and vision.  Only when those purposes can be satisfied and are not infringed upon by rentals, PBC will rent its facilities to the public.

PBC reserves the right to cancel any reservation made for rental to the public with at least 14 days notice to the renter if the facility becomes needed for its charitable purposes.  In such cases PBC will refund the renter all fees in their entirety.

WHO DOES PBC RENT ITS FACILITIES TO?

PBC is not primarily a facility rental business.  Priority shall be given to its charitable purposes.  PBC is also a Christian organization and operates all activities in accordance with Biblical standards as mentioned above and as detailed on our website under “Who We Are: Our Beliefs”.

All renters, regardless of whether they are Christians, even if they are in no way aligned or in agreement with PBC’s statement of belief as mentioned above are expected to respect PBC’s way of life as dictated by the same biblical principles mentioned above.

PBC or its designated representative(s) reserve the right to assess if a renter is in violation of this code of conduct.  Should PBC determine that a renter or anyone in their party is in violation of this code, we reserve the right to terminate the rental agreement immediately, without prejudice, notice, or promise of any refund whatsoever to the renter.

PBC rents its facilities at its own discretion and reserves the right to refuse to rent its facilities to anyone based solely on its own discretion, without giving any reason to the renter.

Being a regular donor and or volunteer at PBC does not entitle a person to use PBC’s resources for their personal benefit at no cost.  PBC may choose to rent its facilities to such people and either charge a fee or not, solely at its own discretion.

SALE AND OR CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL

The sale and or consumption of alcohol by a renter may be approved by the Family Camp manager on a case-by-case basis and is restricted to the renting of PBC adventure Camp’s facilities only.  The sale and or consumption of alcohol shall follow the provisions as laid out in the PBC AC Facilities Rental Agreement.

USE OF FACILITIES BY FOR-PROFIT COMPANIES AND ORGANIZATIONS

PBC may rent its facilities from time to time according to this policy, to the public for fair market value.  PBC may also do so for the purposes of promotion of its charitable purposes and or outreach to the community.  Any profits and proceeds gained through such rentals shall be used to support and sustain its charitable purposes.

At no time shall PBC use its resources to promote or support a renter that is either promoting themselves or profiting through their actions while renting from PBC, if those activities are not directly meant to support PBC’s charitable purposes.
